A rice cooker is the simplest electric appliance in a Bangladeshi kitchen. You wash the rice, add water, press one switch, and it cooks the rice and then keeps it warm by itself. No watching the pot, no burnt bottom, and no gas.
That last part matters a lot right now. The 12 kg LPG cylinder went up to ৳1,837 in October 2026 and it is hard to find in many areas. Cooking rice twice a day in an electric cooker costs only a few taka per pot, and it makes your gas last much longer.
We picked the best rice cooker for each need: best overall, best on a tight budget, best for big families, best digital model, best for service outside Dhaka, best small cooker for one or two people, and a smart cooker you control from your phone. All of them were listed with delivery in Bangladesh when we checked.
